Pinto...
Jamaican born and grown. His own expressive
style began to emerge
at the Rhode Island School of Design. Later, in New York
City he was
privileged to work with a number of outstanding Ceramic
Artists and refine his
technical and aesthetic skills. Before returning home
to Jamaica, he spent several
months in Japan studying and making his own work while
exploring
Kiln Design and Firing Techniques.

Located on the Good Hope Estate, in the
beautiful Queen of Spain Valley,
5 miles above Falmouth [between Ocho Rios and Montego
Bay] in Jamaica.

Soda Fired Stoneware Sculpture
[Aprox 30 inches in height]
His
Works...
David Pinto's one of a kind sculptural
work is fired in a wood Kiln derived
from the anagama Kilns of ancient Japan. Quirky functional
pottery is created
in series and glaze-fired in gas reduction and soda Kilns.
A few items are produced in volume for Hotels and Wholesalers.
His
work is part of the Permanent Collection of the National
Gallery of Jamaica,
Private Collections in Japan, New York and Jamaica and
has been
Touring the USA in Group Exhibitions.
