Hailing
from Bendon, in the parish of St. Catherine, Jamaica W.I.
Gina Rey Forest has been writing from the age of 10 years
being
first introduced to the wonders of the written and spoken
word upon entering
high school. Being something of a loner, she welcomed the
opportunity to write as a mean of self-expression.
Having
decided to publish her work, she started doing performances
of her poetry
in Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica W.I. In her earlier
days, she then became
heavily involved with the Montego Bay Little Theatre Movement
where she got the
opportunity to host an evening of Poetry every first Sunday
of each month.
While not being a 'pure' Poet in the technical sense of
the word, her ability to paint
a picture with her words and relate to the everyday happenings
in life has caused
her work to be greatly appreciated by the wide cross section
of society.

Jamaica’s
own Poet, Gina Rey Forest launched her second book of poetry
on November 19, 2003. The book, entitled “Interlude”
offers some of her best sensual poetry to date.

the best exotic poetry ever written by a Jamaican Author.
Poems include titles like: Esoterica, Incognito, Hedonist,
Fermentation,
Leap Of Faith, No More I Love You’s... and much, much

Today,
Gina Rey Forest continues to be an inspiration to many...she
continues her life's journey by venturing into unique and
'out of pocket' Productions as she pursues her vision with
Poetry, 'Writer's In Fusion' in Kingston, Jamaica
which opened an avenue for particularly young Poets, Authors,
Musicians in Jamaica who saw 'Writer's In Fusion'
as an exciting opportunity to be a part of showcasing with
comfort, their natural talent in Jamaica. 'ShutterBug Treks'
- another unique venture ...captivated the young at heart
who love the outdoors, photography and of course, Jamaica.
Gina Rey Forest not only produces these events, she participates
in them also!
Gina Rey Forest has performed for many Corporate Functions,
Top Hotels
and high profile Private Functions within the Jamaican Society.
Her performances and artistic expressions are daring, provocative,
real, tasteful and unforgettable...
In September 2005 - Gina Rey Forest will be presenting her
first
Theatrical Poetry - 'Reality Check!'.
Recently, Gina Rey Forest Photography Talents were awarded
the
2005 Silver Bowl Award for Outstanding Photography Achievement
and the Bronze Medallion from the International Society
of Photographers.
